The Directory Knowledge Base (DIB) is the details kept in the DSA.

Two groups of information are in the Directory Information Base:

User information (for example, user-provided and administered information)

Administrative and organizational information (e.g., information used for directory management and operation)

These two models, known as the standard Directory Information Models, define how directory information is interpreted.

These generalized models give a structure for other knowledge models.
