The DLUR makes an entry point into the APPN network for dependent secondary logical units. Help from DLUR provides the illusion of getting an adjacent connection to the Virtual Telecommunications Access Method (VTAM®) but requires intermediate nodes to navigate the APPN network.

DLUR supports the following controllers, screens, and printers:

Host computers, including 3270 emulations (*EML), remote (*RJE) work entry, and program-to-program (*PGM) communications

Upstream machines via SNA Passthrough.
