Looking for Definition of DoS – Denial of service or what DoS stands for?

A Service Denial (DoS) is a form of service attack that disrupts a service’s standard functionality and prevents other users from accessing it.

The most popular target for a DoS attack is a website-based online service, while attacks against networks, computers, or even a single program may also be launched.

A do-it-yourself intrusion prohibits users from accessing a service via either their physical or network links. The attack primarily loads the machine with so much traffic or data that nobody else will use before the malicious flow is dealt with.
