Looking for Definition of DSI – dial shelf interface or what DSI stands for?

To run configuration commands of a dial shelf, you can directly attach to the DSC device console interface, but this is not recommended. The Router console will execute all controls required to customize the dial shelf, including the display and Debug tasks. For this function, there is a select command called execute-on. This instruction permits the execution on the router or dial shelf of a particular series of commands in Exec mode. This instruction stops the console from attaching to the DSC. See the full command overview in the Cisco IOS Command Guide for a list of commands you can execute with Execute-on.
