Looking for Definition of OSPF DR – Designated Router or what DR stands for?

The DR is based on an OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) Routing Protocol broadcasting (NBMA (Non-Broadcast Multiple Access) Network. The DR has two purposes, i.e., the development and delivery of LSA for the whole network, minimizing the amount of routing traffic, and coordination with any of the other network routers to maintain present and correct routing details.
